On 29th December 2010, Mr. YOKOTA, Japanese Ambassador to Belgium, gave to Mr. Frederic GENET a commendation and a commemorative pin for his Silver Award of the 4th International MANGA Award.

Abductions of Japanese Citizens by North Korea

MEGUMI (Japanese animation film on "Abduction") now viewable online

Story: In 1977, Ms. Megumi Yokota, a 13-year-old girl, disappeared on her way home from school. It was revealed later on that she was abducted by North Korea. This film features the anguish of Megumi’s family and their desperate effort to bring her back home.

The Cultural and Information Center is now open at the following location:

Cultural and Information Center of the Embassy of Japan
Rue du Luxembourg/Luxemburgstraat 14, 2nd Floor
1000 Bruxelles/Brussel

Opening Hours: 10:00~17:00 (Mon.~Fri.)

When visiting the Center:

On the intercom (located on the left side of the entrance door), press key ⇒ until “CCJ JAPON” appears on the screen. Then, press △ to call the receptionist.
State your name and the purpose of your visit via the intercom.
Wait until our security guard opens the door (it takes a few minutes).
Follow the instructions of the security guard.
