MEGUMI (Japanese animation film on "Abduction") now viewable online

MegumiStory: In 1977, Ms. Megumi Yokota, a 13-year-old girl, disappeared on her way home from school. It was revealed later on that she was abducted by North Korea. This film features the anguish of Megumi’s family and their desperate effort to bring her back home.

Control of Identification documents
before entry to the Consular Section

From July 1, 2009, the Embassy of Japan will, in the interest of security, proceed to a control of identification documents (such as passports or ID-cards) of all visitors of the Consular Section. Visitors will be asked to submit their identification document to the security officer in the elevator hall on the 6th floor before entering the Consular Section. The Embassy thanks you for your understanding and cooperation.
