Friends of Japan and the Commemoration of
the Fourth Anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake Reception

On March 13th, the Friends of Japan and Commemoration of the fourth Anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake reception was held at Ambassador Ishii’s residence. About 100 people, including those studied in Japan, Japanese-Belgian businesspeople, Japan experts and those supporting Japanese and areas affected by the earthquake attended the reception.
Following the speech given by Prof. Vande Walle, Chairman of Friends of Japan and KU Leuven University Professor, Mr. Kaito Kobayashi, who is currently taking advanced piano courses at Chapelle Musicale Reine Élisabeth, played some piano pieces from Chopin as well as the famous Japanese song “Akatombo” (dragonfly).
