Great East Japan Earthquake Charity Event “FUKKO Concert”
11/03/2016On March 11, the Great East Japan Earthquake charity event “FUKKO Concert” was held at the Flagey concert hall and was attended by Ambassador Ishii, Mrs. Ishii, Minister Yamada and others. This concert marked the 5th commemorative year of the disaster and was organized for the 6th time. It featured this year as part of the 150 Years of Friendship between Japan and Belgium. At the beginning, Ambassador Ishii gave a speech and spoke of the current situation at the affected areas and the need for support. Organizer and violinist Ms. Yuzuko Horigome as well as pianist Ms. Martha Argerich, cellist Mischa Maisky, Sendai-born violinist Mr. Kaoru Oe and other musicians all performed on this occasion and made it a concert which succeeded in gathering a lot of goodwill to support the disaster stricken areas.
