Bruges Japan Day Opening Reception
24/06/2016On 24 June, Ambassador, Madame Ishii and Ms. Kurihara attended the opening reception of the Bruges Japan Day at the City Hall of Bruges. Deputy Mayor Pierens and the Bruges Japan Day Executive Committee Chairman Mr. Tsukada welcomed the visitors, followed by an explanation of the history of Bruges and its city hall by chief of protocol Mr. Mosar, after a speech by Ambassador Ishii, representatives of participants received a Bruges Japan Day participation certificate by the representatives. 5 groups of in total 70 people from Japan participated in the Bruges Japan Day to showcase traditional Japanese culture such as Japanese music, tea ceremony, ikebana, Japanese dancing and kimonos. The reception hall itself was crowded with kimonos, resulting in a very colorful atmosphere.
