Nihonjinkai’s “25th Japanese Speech Contest”

On November 26, the 25th Japanese Speech Contest organised by the Nihonjinkai was held as part of the 150 Years of Friendship between Japan and Belgium at the Japanese School of Brussels. Ambassador Ishii and his wife attended as the jury.
This year’s winner was Ms. Sara Correia, who gave a speech about her exchange program in Taiwan and her thoughts on Japan. The speech was entitled “Wonderful unexpected”. A special 150 Years Award was given to Ms. Malou Van Den Heuvel for her speech “Hopes, Ideals and Kigurumi” and the Ambassador’s price went to Ms. Iris Grimm’s “Colours”. To mark the 25th anniversary of the Japanese Speech Contest, its first winner Ms. Françoise Verleye was invited and gave a speech as well.
