Dinner at Place Royale

On December 8, as part of the 150 Years of Friendship between Japan and Belgium, RTL-TVI organized a gala-dinner for their television show “Place Royale”, to which they invited Japan as a guest country. Count Herman Van Rompuy, Friendship Ambassador of the 150 Years of Friendship between Japan and Belgium, his wife, as well as Ambassador Ishii and his wife, were introduced to the 400 attendants. Count Van Rompuy announced his haiku and talked about the friendship between the two countries and the unification of Europe. Ambassador Ishii touched upon the close relationship that exists between the Japanese Imperial family and the Belgian Royal family, while mentioning the state visit of T.M. the King and Queen of Belgians to Japan in October. At the venue, a short film depicting the state visit was screened several times during the dinner.
The event itself was then broadcasted on RTL-TVI’s “Place Royale” of December 10.
