Currently, due to technical difficulties with the telephone switchboard, we are unable to answer calls made to the general telephone number of the Embassy (02-513 23 40). When calling, an automated message notifying that "the number is currently unavailable" plays. A technician is currently working on the problem in order to have telephone calls come in normally again.
 
During this time,  if you have any procedures concerning consular matters (visa, certificates or other urgent matters), you are kindly requested to call the telephone number of the consular section directly (02-500 05 80).   
 
For other matters, you are kindly requested to call the general telephone number at another date, or to send an e-mail to info@bx.mofa.go.jp.
