160th Anniversary of Friendship Japan-Belgium Event: Lecture “François Pycke and Torajiro Kojima”

On March 19, as part of the 160th anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Belgium, the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) hosted a lecture titled “François Pycke and Torajiro Kojima: Friendship between Belgium and Japan,” lectured by Professor Torahiko Terada of the University of Tokyo.
Professor Terada gave a lecture about the relationship between Torajiro Kojima—who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent in the early 20th century and graduated at the top of his class—and his friend, the Belgian painter François Pycke, as well as about artistic exchanges between Japan and Belgium and within Europe. Approximately 60 students and others attended the lecture.
