160th Anniversary of Friendship Japan-Belgium Event: Japan Foundation Traveling Exhibition “I Love Sushi”

From July 17 to August 14, as part of the 160th anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Belgium, the Japan Foundation’s traveling exhibition “I Love Sushi” was held at the Japan Information and Culture Centre (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan.
Approximately 100 people who are interested in Japanese culture attended the opening, which provided an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of sushi.
Additionally, on July 27, the Embassy of Japan held a Japanese cuisine and sushi demonstration led by the Embassy’s chef, targeting restaurants serving sushi in Belgium and professionals in the food and beverage industry. Participants learned the proper techniques for filleting fish and making sushi from the Embassy’s chef.
