160th Anniversary of Friendship Japan-Belgium Event: Noh Theater by the Kanze School

On September 26, as part of the celebrations commemorating the 160th anniversary of Japan-Belgium friendship, a Noh performance by the Kanze School was held at Bozar in Brussels. To celebrate the friendship between the two countries, Kiyokazu Kanze, the 26th Grand Master of the Kanze School, led the performers in a program featuring three pieces: Hagoromo (The Feather Robe), Kaki Yamabushi (The Persimmon Thief), and Shakkyo (The Stone Bridge). Approximately 1,200 people attended the venue, enjoying the first full-scale Noh performance ever to be held in Belgium. Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium was also present at the performance.
