Reception for the Japan Self-Defense Forces Day 2026

On 28 October, the Embassy of Japan held the 2026 Reception for the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) Day at the Ambassador’s residence. The event was attended by officials from the Belgian Ministry of Defense and the Belgian Armed Forces, military officials from NATO and the EU, members of the diplomatic corps from various countries, and members of the military attaché corps.
In his remarks, Ambassador Osuga reviewed defense exchanges between Japan and Belgium in 2026, noting with satisfaction their intensification at both the political and military levels. He also outlined initiatives undertaken by the Japanese government and the Japan Self-Defense Forces to promote peace and stability in an interconnected world.
