   The Embassy of Japan in Belgium is looking for new employee who can start working from mid-April 2026 onward for the following a position. The contract period for both positions is 6 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance.
 
1 Protocol Section (1)
(1)Job Description
   As a local staff member of the Protocol Section, you will be responsible for assisting in secretarial duties for the Deputy Chief of Mission (mainly) and the Ambassador (additionally). In executing your relevant tasks, you will coordinate within the Embassy in cooperation with diplomats and local staff. In concrete, you will liaise and coordinate with external parties, including through telephone calls, assist in the preparation and implementation of receptions and other events, support administrative procedures and paperwork, and perform simple research tasks, as instructed by diplomates.
 
(2)Profile
・Adequate Belgian work permit 
・Adequate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
・English and French (more than business level), Dutch (preferably more than business level ). Japanese that allows you to perform secretarial work is preferable.
・Excellent people to people relations skills by phone and email and communication skills with a spirit of cooperation and flexibility.
Accuracy and preciseness in scheduling, drafting documents and management of equipment and supplies.
・Excellent knowledge of Belgium in various fields
・Willingness to take on various tasks.
・University degree.
2 Salary and Working Hours
・Monthly salary 2,500 euro  –  4,000 euro (Gross salary. This is a salary guideline: experience, etc. will be considered)
・Monday to Friday. Full-time 38h/week (in accordance with Belgian legislation)
 
3 Application Procedure

After screening of the applications, successful applicants will be contacted for an interview and written test. Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.

March 25th (Wednesday): Announcement of the results of the document screening
Late March: Online written examination (requiring access to a PC environment capable of using Word)
Early April: Interview at the Embassy
Early April: Announcement of successful candidates
From mid-April onwards: Commencement of employment (The start date will be determined taking into account individual circumstances.)
