Proclamation Haiku Contest 2017-2018

2018/3/19

On March 15, the “Proclamation Haiku Contest 2017-2018” was held by Professeurs de franҫais en Flandre (Profff), at the Residence of the Ambassador of France to Belgium. This competition is held annually and is mainly aimed at students who are studying French in the Flemish- and German speaking regions. The purpose is to improve the students’ expressiveness in French through poetry, and to get more familiar with Japanese culture through haiku, one of the traditional creative art forms of Japan.
This year, 224 poems had been submitted, 13 of which were awarded. The trophy of the Ambassador of Japan Prize, awarded each year by the Embassy of Japan, was handed to Ms. Charlotte VERHULST by Ambassador Hayashi.
