On October 30, a piano concert by Mr. Tempei Nakamura was held in the Japan Information and Cultural Centre (JICC). Mr. Tempei holds a concert at the JICC each year as part of his annual European tour. The venue was packed even before the start of the concert with many audiences eagerly awaiting the performance.
Mr. Tempei has been influenced by classical music, jazz, progressive rock and other styles, and makes original songs which go beyond specific genres. Mr. Tempei’s performance centered on his own original works, and a total of 9 powerful and lyrical songs were performed, including “Beautiful Hometown” and “Phoenix”, dedicated to the affected areas of the Great Hanshin Earthquake and the Great East Japan Great Earthquake. During the customary encores, the artist received a big round of applause from the audience for his improvisation themed “European Journey” with its beautiful melody.
