Opening of the exhibition "VOICE AND SOUNDWAVES. The Japanese scene" by Japanese contemporary artists
On February 13, the opening of the exhibition "VOICE AND SOUNDWAVES The Japanese scene" by Japanese contemporary artists focusing on "sound and hearing" took place at the gallery LE 26 BY in Brussels and was attended by Ambassador Hayashi. This exhibition was planned with the aim of introducing here in Brussels the creativity of Japanese artists who over many years have had a great influence over contemporary art, and their characteristic delicate techniques. It is a beneficiary of the 2018 Exhibitions Abroad Support Program of the Japan Foundation.
Twenty-five 3-dimensional objects, videos, mixed media and other creations of Yukio Fujimoto, Yagi Lyota, Atsushi Nishijima, the Softpad collective and Mamoru are on display. The artists also attended the opening of the exhibition and, from February 14 to 17, a lecture and workshop is also scheduled at Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Ghent.
