Inauguration of an Anechoic Chamber of AGC

2019/3/15

On March 15, Minister Maekawa attended the opening ceremony of an anechoic chamber of AGC Glass Europe in Gosselies, Charleroi. Mr. Willy Borsus, Minister-President of the Walloon government, pushed symbolically a button for opening the facility. Mr. Paul Magnet, Mayor of Charleroi, and representatives of related companies and technology institutions also attended the ceremony.
AGC Glass Europe has built this large-scale anechoic chamber for the purpose of testing its integrated glass antennas for automobiles. In addition to the existing anechoic chambers in Japan and the U.S., this first anechoic chamber in Europe will allow AGC Glass Europe to develop high performance integrated glass antennas, indispensable to automotive technologies requiring advanced ICT such as self-driving and connected cars.
