Visit to the port of Zeebrugge and the city of Bruges
On February 14, Ambassador Shimokawa visited ICO (International Car Operators) in the port of Zeebrugge. ICO is a Belgian subsidiary of Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), and operates terminals for finished-cars in the ports of Zeebrugge and Antwerp, two important hubs for importing and exporting finished cars in Europe. In addition to its cargo handling service, ICO also provides value-added services such as inspection before car delivery and installation of accessories, Ambassador Shimokawa visited these facilities in the port of Zeebrugge.
After the visit to ICO, Ambassador Shimokawa paid a courtesy call to Mr. De Fauw, Mayor of Bruges and also chairman of the port of Zeebrugge, at the City Hall where they exchanged views.
