2020 Spring Conferment of Decorations

On April 29th, 2020, the Government of Japan decided to confer decorations on 117 foreign nationals (23 out of recipients are women.) for the spring 2020. From Belgium, Professor Andreas Thele in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of Liege University and Director of the Centre for Japanese Studies of the said University received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon for his contribution to promoting academic exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and the Kingdom of Belgium.
