The 15th Japan International MANGA Award Online Ceremony

On March 4, the 15th Japan International MANGA Award Online Ceremony was held at the Tokyo Convention Hall.

The Japan International MANGA Award was launched in 2007 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, with the aim of honouring Manga artists who have contributed to the promotion of Manga overseas as well as promoting international cultural exchange through Manga.

A record-high of 483 entries from 76 countries and regions was reached this year, of which 14 were prized with a MANGA Award. The work that won this year’s Gold Award, “Days of sand” by Aimée De Jongh (Netherlands), as well as one that received a Silver Award, “Always never” by Jordi Lafebre Spain, were published by the Belgian publisher Dargaud-Lombard SA in Belgium.
