[Embassy] Movie screening “Summer Blooms” and "Between Us" at JICC

2024/6/26
On June 13, our Japan Information and Cultural Center welcomed 44 guests to enjoy the movie “Summer Blooms” together. The movie focuses on Takimoto Hatsumi, a 27-year-old former teacher with a secret. One day, she receives a letter from her boyfriend, who passed away during the spring three years ago. After meeting with a former student, she confesses her past.

We held a second movie screening on June 26. This time, we showed the movie “Between Us,” a coming-of-age film about Tamaki, a young student at a missionary school. She is somewhat disheartened after her father's bankruptcy. One day, she overhears a fellow student playing the wa-daiko (和太鼓, Japanese drum). This sparks her interest in the beautiful instrument and offers some distraction from her troubles.

Both movie screenings were received positively, and all the guests had a pleasant time.
