Awarding of the Ambassador’s Certificate of Commendation to Ms Yukiko Van Cauwenberghe, Gardener

On 17th October, Ambassador Mikami awarded a Certificate of Commendation to Mrs. Yukiko Van Cauwenberghe, a gardener. Ms. Van Cauwenberghe moved to Belgium in 1981 and has since contributed to promoting horticultural exchange between Japan and Belgium. She has also engaged in spreading grains and seedlings of peace trees that survived the atomic bombing in Hiroshima to convey a message of peace.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Mikami expressed deep gratitude and respect for Mrs. Van Cauwenberghe's longstanding contributions.
