Download all Application Forms from the "Study in Japan" website under "Documents for Application".

  • Nationality:
    Belgian (An applicant who has Japanese nationality at the time of application is not eligible)
  • Age:
    Applicants must be born between 2 April 1993 and 1 April 2005.
  • Academic Background:
    Applicants must be undergraduates at foreign (non-Japanese) universities majoring in fields related to the Japanese language or Japanese culture at the time of arriving in and leaving Japan.
    Furthermore, only applicants who have studied Japanese Studies for a total period of one year or more as of September 1, 2023 are eligible for this application.
  • Japanese Language Ability:
    Applicants must have Japanese language ability sufficient for receiving education at Japanese university in Japanese.

Schedule 2023
(Following schedule may change according to regulatory measures.)

  • Application Deadline: Monday 13 February 2023, 17:00
  • Japanese Written Test: Friday 17 February 2023
  • Interview: Latter half of February 2023 (TBC)
  • Final Result Announcement: July ~ August 2023
  • Departure for Japan*: September ~ October 2023 (TBC)
    *Departure for Japan may be subject to change according to Japanese government’s border control measures against COVID-19.
 

 

Dear applicants,

Thank you for your interest in the Japanese Government Scholarship for Japanese Studies.

Applicants MUST read through the Application Guidelines, download all application forms from the "Study in Japan" website and follow the instructions.

Application Forms along with Certificate of Health, and Recommendation Letter must be submitted to the Embassy of Japan in Belgium. These documents can be downloaded from the "Study in Japan" website.
Please print out the form and fill in the required information by handwriting or, download the form and fill in the required information by typing and then print it out.
In order to fill in the "PLACEMENT PREFERENCE APPLICATION FORM", please refer to the "Course Guide for Japanese Studies Students 2023", which we will add the link in this page soon.
All the documents should be written in Japanese or English. If you may not obtain the required documents in either language, you are required to attach an English or Japanese translation.

   (APPLICATION WILL BE EXAMINED IN YOUR PRESENCE (PRE-SCREENING))
   * DO NOT SEND APPLICATION BY POST NOR VISIT WITHOUT APPOINTMENT
   * INCOMPLETE APPLICATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
