  • JET PROGRAMME 

    The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program is operated by local authorities in conjunction with the Japanese Government and the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR).

    There are three types of participation (* Please note that Belgian nationals are only eligible for a position of CIR as of now.):

  • CIRs (Coordinators for International Relations) who work in communities on international exchange activities.
  • SEAs (Sports Exchange Advisors) who promote international exchange through athletics.
  • ALTs (Assistant Language Teachers) who provide language instruction in junior and senior high school classrooms.
  • The Program was started in 1987, and the first Belgian participant went to Japan on this Program in 1997 as a CIR. There is currently a CIR participant in Kanazawa city, Ishikawa prefecture.

Position of Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) 2024
In KANAZAWA CITY, Ishikawa prefecture

Eligibility

The Applicant must:

  • Be a Belgian national.
  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Have the following language skills
    A) Japanese: Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 level (N1 level preferred)
    B) Dutch: Native level
    C) English and French: Fluent

Job Description

  • Assistance in projects related to international activities carried out by Kanazawa city.
  • Assistance in language instruction of employees of Kanazawa city and local residents.
  • Assistance with and participation in activites of local private groups or organisations.
  • Assistance in exchange activities (including school visits).

Schedule

  • Application Deadline: 8 March 2024
  • Interview Test: In March or April (TBC)
  • Arrival in Japan: Sunday 4 August 2024

  3. Bring your application documents to the Embassy as instructed.
  4. Application documents will be examined in your presence (Pre-Screening).

  • Do not send application by post, e-mail, nor visit without appointment.
  • Incomplete application will not be accepted.
  • Documents submitted will not be returned.
  • If you are unsure about your documents, you may send them vai email to us to have a preliminary check.
