The Embassy of Japan in Belgium is looking for new employees who can start working from March 2025 onward for the following two positions. The contract period for both positions is 6 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance.
  

(1)Job Description

As a local staff member of the Protocol, you will be responsible for assisting in secretarial duties and internal coordination of the Embassy’s activities, particularly for the Deputy Chief of Mission, the General Affairs Team and the two Defense Attachés. In concrete, you will liaise and coordinate with external parties, including telephone calls, assist in the preparation of receptions and other events as well as help on the day of the event, perform administrative procedures and paperwork, and perform simple research tasks, as instructed by your diplomates.

・Adequate Belgian work permit 
・Adequate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
・Business level English and French
・Excellent people and communication skills by phone and email.
Precision and meticulousness in paperwork and management of supplies.
・Eager to take on varied tasks. 
 

(1)Job Description

As a local staff member of the JICC Team, you will be mainly responsible for the Embassy's public relations and cultural projects. In concrete, under the direction of diplomats, you will prepare letters and speeches in English and French, plan cultural events and manage public relations projects as a team, collect and examine various types of information, coordinate communications with external parties, including telephone calls and email correspondence, manage PR tools such as the Embassy’s website and SNS, do translation work (French, English, Japanese), and any other duties as required by the Embassy.

・Adequate Working Permit
・French (business level), English (business level), Japanese (preferable but not a requirement) 
・Precision and meticulousness in paperwork and management of supplies.
・Excellent knowledge of Belgian society and culture.
・Communication skills with a spirit of cooperation and flexibility.
・Adequate skills in Microsoft Office (Word、Excel、Power Point、Outlook, etc.). Knowledge of web design, web management, social network design and management is a plus.
・University degree
 

3 Salary and Working Hours (both positions)

・Monthly salary 2,500 euro  –  4,000 euro (Gross salary. This is a salary guideline: experience, etc. will be considered)
・Monday to Friday. Full-time 38h/week (in accordance with Belgian legislation)
