Visit to Japanese and Belgian companies in the province of Limburg

On 13th March, Ambassador Sakaba visited Sumitomo Bakelite Europe (phenolic resin manufacturing) and Nitto Europe (manufacturing industrial tape, etc.) which are Japanese companies in Genk, and Alken-Maes, which is a Belgian brewer in Alken, near Hasselt. The products of Sumitomo Bakelite Europe and Nitto Europe whilst quite invisible to ordinary consumers, have proven, a hidden success in many automotive and other applications. As for Alken-Maes, it was explained that they produce beers like Maes Pils and Mort Subite, which are often seen in regular supermarkets.
