NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen's Visit to Japan
NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen visited Japan from 13 to 16 April 2013. In Tokyo, the Secretary General called on Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, both signing the first Joint Political Declaration between Japan and NATO, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida, Minister of Defence Itsunori Onodera and members of the Japanese Parliament (Diet). The Secretary General also addressed the Japan National Press Club.
Ambassador Sakaba accompanied the delegation. He was designated as Representative of the Government of Japan to NATO on April 15.
