Reception for Enhancement of Relations among Japan-Belgium Sister Cities, Friendly Cities and Friendship Ports”

18/11/2014 On 18 November, Ambassador Ishii held a reception at the Residence for Belgian representatives of Japan-Belgium Sister Cities, Friendly Cities and Friendship Ports. The Mayors of Ghent, Vilvoorde, Hasselt and Durbuy, and aldermen and other responsible persons from Charleroi, Waterloo, Mechelen, Blankenberge, Port of Antwerp and Port of Zeebrugge attended. There are 8 sister cities, 2 friendly cities and 2 friendship ports between Japan and Belgium. Ambassador Ishii expressed in his speech his hope to enhance each twinning relationship further and asked for cooperation for the 150 Years of Friendship between Japan and Belgium in 2016. Attendees discussed and exchanged views including their activities and strengthened their networks. nbsp;
