Opening ceremony of the art exhibition “A feverish Era in Japanese Art"

On 13 October, chargé d'affaires Minister Yamada attended the opening ceremony of the art exhibition “A feverish Era in Japanese Art: Expressionist Abstraction of the 1950s-1960s”, where he gave a welcoming speech. The event is part of the 150 Years of Friendship between Japan and Belgium and is sponsored by the Japan Foundation, The National Museum of Modern Art of Kyoto and the Centre for Fine Arts. The exhibition features various Japanese expressionist artworks, which originated between the beginning of the 1950s and the mid-1960s under the influence of Western art. (The exhibition is open from 14 October 2016 until 22 January 2017, at the Centre for Fine Arts (Palais des Beaux-Arts)).
