MOU Signing Ceremony between the City of Ghent and the City of Kanazawa

On 20 October, Ambassador Ishii and his wife together with Ms. Kurihara attended the MOU Signing Ceremony between the City of Ghent and the City of Kanazawa to celebrate the 45th anniversary of their sister city relations. The ceremony which was held at the City Hall, started with welcoming speeches from Mayor of Ghent Daniël Termont, Mayor of Kanazawa Yukiyoshi Yamano and Ambassador Ishii, and the MOU was signed to strengthen further exchanges between the two cities. During the speeches, the Mayor of Ghent mentioned the Belgian Beer Weekend which was held for the first time in Kanazawa in May this year as well as the possible artistic future exchanges. The Mayor of Kanazawa, on the other hand, mentioned his hopes for increasing youth interaction and more visitors from Belgium to Kanazawa. Ambassador Ishii expressed his hopes to enhance even more the current active relations and exchanges between the two cities.
