“Road to Tokyo” Belgian Paralympic Committee Gala Event

On February 9, “Road to Tokyo”, a gala event aimed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games, was held by the Belgian Paralympic Committee in Brussels, in attendance of Minister Yamada and Ms. Kurihara. The event was furthermore attended by Princess Astrid and many Olympic and Paralympic athletes, as well as sponsoring companies. Speeches were held by President of the International Paralympic Committee Sir Philip Craven, former President of the International Olympic Committee Count Jacques Rogge, President of the Belgian Paralympic Committee Mrs. Anne d'Ieteren and Minister Yamada. Olympic gold medallist and judoka Mrs. Ingrid Berghmans presided the evening. The attendees enjoyed special dance performances by dancers and Paralympic athletes. The participation of a Japanese dancer and a koto music performance succeeded in transmitting a Japanese atmosphere, making the event a gorgeous opening event for Tokyo 2020.
