Opening of Yokoso Festival at the Hasselt Japanese Garden

On March 4, the opening event of “Yokoso Festival”, taking place this year in the Japanese Garden and the city of Hasselt to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Japanese Garden, was held at the Hasselt Japanese Garden, in attendance of Minister Yamada, Mrs. Kono and Ms. Kurihara. Mayor of the city of Hasselt Mrs. Nadja Vananroye, Minister Yamada and Vice-Mayor Mrs. Karolien Mondelaers gave welcome addresses.
From the same day, the exhibition “Across Japan”, on the influence of Japanese fashion on Europe, at the Fashion museum of Hasselt （www.modemuseumhasselt.be/）as well as an exhibition with original illustrations for picture books by Belgian and other European illustrators inspired by Japanese culture, at the Literary Museum （http://www.literairmuseum.be/）, have been started.
