Hasselt Japanese Garden Violin Concert

The city of Hasselt and Itami City in Hyogo Prefecture, have maintained cultural exchanges for many years as part of their Sister City relation, and the Japanese Garden of Hasselt, constructed as a symbol of those friendship relations, celebrates the 25th anniversary of its opening this year. On October 13, the opening of the "Chrysanthemum Festival" was held at the garden, and on the 15th a ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the donation of the garden was held in attendance of Itami Mayor Mr. Fujiwara and Hasselt Mayor Ms. Vananroye and others. On that occasion, a violin concert by the Japanese violinist Chikako Hosoda, based in Brussels, was also held.

During the concert, traditional Japanese songs such as "Soshunfu" and "Akatombo" were performed, and the audience fully enjoyed the scenery of the Japanese Garden colored with autumn leaves, together with the beautiful sound of the violin, making it a splendid autumn day of Japanese culture.
