Lecture at ULB by Ambassador Hayashi

On November 13,　a lecture by Ambassador Hayashi on the topic of “Japan and Belgium beyond 150th Anniversary of Friendship” was held at the French-language Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). An audience of approximately 90 students, most of them majoring in Japanese at the University, gathered for the lecture. They eagerly listened to topics from a wide range of fields, such as the history of exchanges between Japan and Belgium, trade, culture, sister city exchange, the steps taken between the two countries as well as the common points and the prospects for the future.
After the lecture, a lively Q&A session was held on concrete projects between Japan and Belgium as well as student exchange programs. The lecture was in active mood with the young generation’s motivation, who will be engaged in the future exchanges between Japan and Belgium.
