Lunch-Conference at VOKA Metropolitan in Brussels
On November 22, Ambassador Hayashi gave a lecture about Japan -Belgium economic relations at the occasion of Ambassador’s Lunch organised by VOKA (Flemish Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Metropolitan together with Brussels Diplomatic Academy of VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). He explained about some important periods in the history of diplomatic relations since its establishment in 1866. He also mentioned the current situation of bilateral economic relations, including the number of Japanese companies established in Belgium reaching 229 as of October 2016, and the expectation of their further development. With attendees, he discussed Japanese companies’ investments to Belgium and cultural exchanges between Japan and Belgium.
