On January 15, the opening reception of the exhibition “XL Travelogue, XS Manifestos, Meditations on Tokyo”, by two young artists from Belgium and Israel, Charles Weinberg and Shai Ben Ami, was held at the Japan Information and Cultural Centre (JICC). As students of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Israel, the artists took part in a studio course at the Waseda University in Tokyo during the summer of 2016. At the exhibition, drawings, maps and other graphic works inspired by their stay in Japan were on display. Participants were fascinated by the energetic duo’s young and talented new interpretation of Japan, and the event marked a befitting start of 2018. The exhibition will be held until January 26.
