BJA New Year cocktail reception

On January 29, Ambassador Hajime Hayashi attended the Belgium-Japan Association & Chamber of Commerce (BJA) New Year cocktail reception. In his remarks, Ambassador Hayashi expressed his hope for a prosperous year, thanks to the revival of the Japanese economy, the new Belgium-Japan Tax Convention and the finalisation of the negotiations for the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Japan and EU, despite some elements of uncertainty such as Brexit and elections in some countries.
On this occasion, Ambassador Hayashi exchanged views with Pr. Declerck, President of the BJA and other board members, representatives from Japanese and Belgian companies and other BJA members, and discussed the way to promote further economic relations between Japan and Belgium.
