Joli-Bois Primary School Visit to the JICC

2018/5/17

On May 15, 22 pupils of the primary school Joli-Bois in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre visited the Japan Information and Cultural Centre (JICC). Ms. Kono welcomed the students, after which they viewed short films about Japan and took part in a quiz on topics such as geography, politics and culture, followed by a Q&A session. After this, they tried writing their names in katakana.
During the quiz, there was great excitement over the answer to a question about the different kanji (Japanese ideograms) for "tree", "forest" and “woods”, as "woods" (Fr.: bois) is part of the name of the school. The therapeutic robot Paro was also very popular, and a family photo together with Paro was taken at the end of the visit. We hope that all the participants will be more interested in Japan as a result of this visit. Please come and visit the JICC again!
