Paralympic Sports Awards ceremony

On February 14, the Paralympic Sports Awards ceremony hosted by the Belgian Paralympic Committee was held at the Van der Valk Hotel in Brussels and was attended by Ambassador Hayashi. This award ceremony was held to celebrate the Belgian disabled athletes who made remarkable performances at the Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games and world championships. Ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Summer Games, Ambassador Hayashi encouraged the athletes by saying: "The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will start on 25th August 2020. Many athletes from Belgium will participate and I am looking forward to their excellent performances." He handed an award plaque to athlete Louis Toussaint (rowing), recipient of the Talent of the Year Award.
Around 20 athletes from various competitions such as skiing, goalball, wheelchair tennis, badminton and table tennis were honored at this award ceremony and newly expressed their willingness to participate to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
