Sogetsu School Ikebana Expo

On October 12, a reception for the “Sogetsu School Ikebana Expo” was held at the Botanic Garden in Meise, and attended by Ambassador Shimokawa. At the expo, 35 creative and colorful works characteristic of the Sogetsu School were exhibited, made by Senior Teacher of the Sogetsu School Ms. Atsuko Bersma, who resides in Belgium, and 32 of her students.
This expo by Ms. Bersma, who has been in charge of teaching ikebana and the training of teachers in various countries and regions, was held by the motto of friendship through flowers, and marked her 29th exhibition. 2 days Expo, during a weekend blessed by good weather, attracted approximately 1.000 visitors, who were fascinated by the clear-cut and powerful beauty of the traditional Japanese culture that is ikebana.
