The 14th Japan International MANGA Award Winner Announcement
The Japan International MANGA Award is given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to MANGA artists who have contributed to the promotion of MANGA culture overseas and international cultural exchanges through MANGA. This year marks its 14th anniversary and we have received 383 entries from 61 countries and regions.
Following the selection process carried out in cooperation with the Association of MANGA Publishers, and the selection committee of the Award led by Ms. SATONAKA Machiko (Manga artist), a total of 15 winners, including one Gold Award and three Silver Award winners were chosen.
Among them, the Silver Award of this 14th edition was given to the album “The Muse” (Natures Mortes) by Oriol (Spain) and Zidrou (Belgium) published by Dargaud-Lombard S.A.
A Bronze Award was also awarded to the album “Murena 10” by Theo (Italy) and Jean Dufaux (Belgium) published by Dargaud-Lombard S.A.
We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the award winners. We hope that their future activities will contribute to further deepen the international exchange and mutual understanding through the MANGA culture.
