[Embassy] French-language Haiku Contest Award Ceremony 2023-2024

On 17th April, Mr. Oeda, Minister/Deputy chief of the Embassy attended the Award Ceremony of the French Haiku Contest organized by Association for Professor of French language in Flanders, Embassy of France in Belgium, Flemish Ministry of Education, with the patronage of the Embassy of Japan in Belgium held at the Flemish Ministry of Education.
This competition has been held every year since 2009 mainly for students and teachers studying French in the Flemish and German regions of Belgium with the aim of improving French expression through haiku (俳句), a form of traditional Japanese poetry.
The Award Ceremony was held in the presence of H. E. Mr Herman VAN ROMPUY, Former President of the European Council, International Haiku Ambassador for Japan-EU Friendship, where Mr Oeda honored a trophy to Ms. Karla Daras who received the Japanese Ambassador's Award.
