Exhibition Capacious Exhibition #3

Capacious is representing seven artists with disabilities living in Osaka. They launched the project in July 2016, supported by a regional welfare grant from the Osaka Foundation of Welfare. They chose Capacious as their project title, representing it through the symbolic image of a large bag with no compartments. They would like to take this project as an opportunity to re-consider the potential of art when experienced without the baggage of conventional trajectories defining contemporary art or limitations of language.

CLASSICS & ANTHOLOGIES
MIKIO NARUSE

INORI

Japanese traditional music concert (Wahensho; Koto; Shamisen)

Since ancient times, the Japanese have been “folks of prayers (inori)”. A deep appreciation for nature’s blessings and hopes for peace have formed the basis for their festivals and seasonal traditions. These feelings of “hopes (inori) for peace” and “gratitude”, through various Japanese landscapes, have been interpreted into songs. Using an instrument called wahensho and the traditional koto, we dedicate these songs of "hope" for the people's peace of mind.(Yukine)
